SACRAMENTO – Today, Angelique Ashby, candidate for State Senate District 8, announced that she has been endorsed by Teamsters Local 150. “Angelique Ashby has the tenacity we need in a state senator, and the Teamsters are proud to put our support behind her,” said Dale Wentz, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 150. “She has stood by us and we are excited to continue to stand by her and build a partnership at
the state level.”
Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Teamsters Local 150 represents nearly 10,000 workers throughout the Greater Sacramento area in a variety of industries, including: Grocery Distribution, UPS, Trucking, Medical, Public Agency employees, Dairy, Beverage Distribution, Manufacturing, and others.
“Having the support of the Teamsters for this campaign is an honor,” said Angelique Ashby. “The Teamsters have been great partners during my time on City Council, and I know our partnership will only continue to grow stronger when I am elected to the Senate.”
Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
