SACRAMENTO – Today, Angelique Ashby announced her campaign for Senate has been endorsed by Christopher Cabaldon, former Mayor of West Sacramento, along with eight other West Sacramento & Yolo County leaders.
Cabaldon, now the Mayor in Residence at the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto, was West Sacramento’s longest serving mayor. He became mayor of West Sacramento in 1998 and served in that capacity for 20 years.
“It is an honor to have the endorsements of so many incredibly talented regional leaders, including former Mayor Cabaldon,” said Angelique Ashby.
Cabaldon joins a number of regional leaders in West Sacramento and throughout Yolo County who have endorsed Ashby, including: West Sacramento City Councilmembers Chris Ledesma and Quirina Orozco; former West Sacramento City Councilmember Babs Sandeen; Yolo County Supervisor Oscar Villegas; Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig; former Yolo County Supervisor Betsy Marchand; former Washington Unified School District Member Katie Villegas; and Yolo County Democratic Party Chair Linda Deos.
Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
