SACRAMENTO – Today, the Angelique Ashby for Senate campaign unveiled its latest television ad, “My Story.”
The ad, which can be seen here and below, hit Sacramento region airwaves over the weekend of October 22-23. “My Story” features Ashby describing her background as a former single mom who put herself through college and law school while navigating food stamps, subsidized childcare, and low-income housing.
“I’ve spent my life delivering for families,” says Ashby in the ad. “Moving them from the streets to housing, helping women escape violence, protecting foster youth, and providing childcare for parents who need to work.”
Just this month, Ashby opened a converted hotel in her council district that is already housing dozens of unsheltered families and can ultimately get as many as 200 parents and children off the streets at once. Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
