SACRAMENTO – Today, The Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber Political Action Committee (Metro-PAC) announced their endorsement of Angelique Ashby for State Senate.
“Throughout her time at City Hall and especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Angelique Ashby has demonstrated an aptitude for supporting businesses of all sizes and uplifting everyone who calls Sacramento home,” said Chelsea Minor, Board Chair of Metro-PAC. “She has led the charge on significant projects that will contribute to the region’s economic vitality for years to come, and Metro-PAC is proud to support her candidacy for State Senate.”
Metro-PAC is an independent political action committee that supports candidates for local and state office who advocate for the policy principles of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (Metro Chamber). Throughout its history, the Metro Chamber has served as the region’s principal economic development and advocacy organization for business in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba Counties.
“The Metro Chamber has been a lead driver and a key partner in so much of what makes our region great – from supporting major employers, to the Golden 1 Center, and critical assistance to small businesses through the pandemic,” said Angelique Ashby. “I look forward to continuing to work together from the state level to make our home an even more vibrant place to live, work, and play.”
Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
