Sacramento-Sierra Building & Construction Trades Council Endorses Angelique Ashby for Senate

SACRAMENTO – Today, the Sacramento-Sierra Building & Construction Trades Council (SSBCTC)
announced it has endorsed Angelique Ashby for Senate District 8.

Founded 47 years ago, SSBCTC represents more than 15,000 union construction workers in the
Sacramento, Amador, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sierra and Yolo counties.
“Angelique Ashby has been a champion for our members throughout her time on City Council
and we are proud to stand by her in this race,” said Kevin Ferreira, Executive Director of the
SSBCTC.
“She understands the needs of working people and their families and we know she’ll
continue to fight for our members in the State Senate.”

“It means so much to have the support of the thousands of working people who comprise the
Sac-Sierra Building Trades,” said Angelique Ashby. “They are truly at the foundation of
everything that makes our region great, and I am proud to have their support in this campaign.”

Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the
City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most
of Sacramento County.
