SACRAMENTO, December 13 – State Senate District Six candidate Angelique Ashby
announced today that she has received the endorsement of Senator Sydney Kamlager
(D-Los Angeles).
“I am proud to throw my support behind Angelique Ashby for Senate,” said Senator
Sydney Kamlager (D-Los Angeles). “I look forward to fighting alongside Angelique in the
Senate as we continue to work to achieve equity and justice for all Californians.”
“Senator Kamlager is a warrior and a shero,” said Angelique Ashby. “It means the world
to have the support of someone with her track record and dedication to justice, fairness,
and equality for all.”
Ashby has also been endorsed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell,
whose former seat Senator Kamlager now holds in the State Senate.
Senator Kamlager and Supervisor Mitchell top a long list of organizations and officials
that have endorsed Ashby, including: the California Democratic Legislative Women’s
Caucus and the National Women’s Political Caucus California, and a number of
legislators including retiring District Six State Senator Richard Pan, M.D., and
Assemblymembers Jim Cooper, Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, and Autumn
Burke.
Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council district one and serves as Mayor
Pro Tem of the City of Sacramento. Senate District Six includes the cities of Sacramento
and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
