SACRAMENTO – Today, Angelique Ashby announced that her campaign for State Senate has been endorsed by the United Domestic Workers of America (UDW) AFSCME Local 3930.
UDW/AFSCME Local 3930 is a home care union made up of over 155,000 In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) providers and family childcare providers in 45 counties throughout California.
“UDW is supporting Angelique Ashby because we know she is committed to addressing the critical issues facing our members and our communities in her district,” said Doug Moore, Jr., Executive Director of UDW/AFSCME Local 3930. “We look forward to standing alongside her in the Senate to promote our shared values.” “

UDW joins a growing coalition of labor support for Ashby, who also has the endorsement of the California Professional Firefighters, the State Building & Construction Trades Council of California, the California State Council of Laborers, Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 104, AFSCME Local 3299, the Sac-Sierra Building & Construction Trades Council, and Teamsters Local 150.
Ashby currently represents Sacramento City Council District 1 and serves as Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento. Senate District 8 includes the cities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and most of Sacramento County.
